Amerigo Vespucci model video

Still experimenting with the model effect, but this time applied to a video of the Italian Navy School Ship, the world famous Amerigo Vespucci. Passing by the ship are some “vaporettos” and other boats of local transportation in Venice.

Experimenting this new photographic technique. Photos are edited to give them a tiny model look as if they were scaled down reproductions of the real world. I’m still refining the method and not all shots give good results with this effect. Sigma DP1 test at ISO 800

Last night I was in Venice with my trusty DP1 and a cheap flexible pocket tripod. I took some ISO 800 shots at shutter speeds from 8 to 10 seconds and the results were amazing. Here are some samples of processing of an ISO 800 RAW file with Sigma Photo Pro 3.2 for Mac.

Please notice how the wide dynamic range of the Foveon sensor can handle the highlight from the wall light on the right of the image.
